Tonight was fundamentals followed by open mat. It’s actually been a month or so since I did a fundamentals class so it was interesting to see about half a dozen white belts I’ve never seen before.
2 of them were visiting from Europe so that as pretty cool too. Also it is always nice to see the BJJ brotherhood in effect.
Fundamentals focused on escaping the scarf hold and the baseball choke. I learned this choke early on but it took me about 4 months of doing jiu jitsu before I realized why it was called a baseball choke….one day I was looking at my hands and grip and it hit me. I then felt like an idiot for not getting it for so long.
